Kingsbridge
About
Kingsbridge has a fantastic feel to it and it retains its market town feel. It’s situated in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Beauty and next to the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary – unusual in that it doesn’t have a river feeding into it. Kingsbridge is a very popular destination for walkers (on the coast path or the moors – Dartmoor is just a short drive away) and those who love to be by the coast as there are plenty of fantastic beaches nearby. If you’re a sailor, Salcombe is just up the road.
Things to do
Kingsbridge is a great place to visit as it has a variety of quality independent shops. Antique shops, art galleries and gift shops – all beg to be explored. There are plenty of cafes along the High Street to unwind and ‘shoot the breeze’. It has a 3 screen cinema, a leisure centre with a swimming pool if the sun refuses to play and many quality pubs offering local craft beers and fine wines. Lots of local events are always happening – so make sure you pick up the ‘What’s Happening Guide’. Among them, The Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival in June, Kingsbridge Fair Week in July and the Kingsbridge Show in September. Don’t forget to check out The Farmer’s Market for fresh produce.
Eat and Drink
Whether you’re after a restaurant for fine dining, a pub for some great ‘pub grub’, a local café for a coffee and chat or a takeaway – Kingsbridge has them all. All you’ve got to do is make the decision. Hello Kingsbridge can help you out.
