Area Information
Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island
Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island are two of the ‘must-sees’ on the beautiful South Devon coastline. The wonderful beaches, the natural beauty of the island and the unique sea-tractor which connects the two when the tide comes in, are truly iconic and will last long in the memories of those lucky enough to visit.
Testimonials
The owners of Beach Buoys have thought of everything that you would need to have a great stay, including a warm outdoor shower for removing beach sand!
The house is very comfortable, was very clean and had some useful extras, including a selection of games and reading books.
It is only a few minutes to the beach, which, even at high tide, had some sand for our dog to run around on. At low tide, the beach is huge and of course it’s walkable to Burgh Island. The sea tractor runs to a timetable once the tide comes in; it’s a bit noisy, but it’s on the ‘must do’ list.
We recommend The Journey’s End pub nearby in Ringmore; a great welcome, range of beer and lovely food. The pub garden is a sun trap on bright days. It’s walkable from Beach Buoys, as is the beautiful Ayrmer Cove; another ‘must do’.

We had an amazing time staying at Beach Buoys in Bigbury. The property was right by the beach and was modern, chic and spacious. We often use this company to book our holidays because Patsy is fabulous…. Everything is organised quickly and efficiently and she responds personally to queries and helps with everything. We will definitely be back again

Patsy is looking after our home in Bigbury on Sea and I am delighted to recommend her and Rest Assured. She always is happy and available to help and give advice. Her standards are high so our house is always spotless and gleaming when we arrive… and I’m quite fussy!
